Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Friday as the SYR JR Chiefs (5-0) outscored the Niagara (4-1) 12-9.

The teams totaled 25 hits in the game.

The game was back-and-forth heading into the fourth, with four lead changes.

Zach Lauricella racked up five RBIs on three hits for the SYR JR Chiefs. He homered in the first inning and doubled in the third and fourth innings.

Dean Bonneau brought the heat against the Niagara during his outing. Bonneau held the Niagara hitless over 2 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one.

Jed Lehman improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the SYR JR Chiefs. He allowed one run over three innings. He struck out two, walked three and surrendered three hits.

Steven Beckham (1-1) took the loss for the Niagara. He allowed 12 runs in 3 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out one.
