The Alameda Merchants (21-19) weren't able to overcome the big hole they dug themselves into against the San Francisco Seagulls (27-23), and the Alameda Merchants lost 3-2 to the San Francisco Seagulls after falling behind by two runs in the fifth inning.

The Alameda Merchants scored one run in the seventh on a groundout by Ryan Lacy. Unfortunately, the Alameda Merchants weren't able to take the lead back.

Roger Fonseca had a hot bat for the San Francisco Seagulls. Fonseca went 3-5 and drove in one. He singled in the first, third, and seventh innings.

The San Francisco Seagulls relied on Greg Hansen to eat up innings en route to the win. Hansen allowed two earned runs, five hits and two walks while striking out four over nine innings of work.

Jesse Schumacher (5-1) took the loss for the Alameda Merchants. He lasted just six innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed three runs.
