The Long Island Ducks top the Bridgeport Bluefish behind Navarrete's 3 hits, 9-1

An impressive effort by Ray Navarrete led the Long Island Ducks (44-40) to a 9-1 win in seven innings over the Bridgeport Bluefish (38-47) on Sunday at Harbor Yard.

Navarrete rocked the Bridgeport Bluefish with two home runs. Navarrete went 3-4 in the game with four RBIs and three runs scored. Navarrete homered in the third and sixth innings.

The Long Island Ducks blew out the Bridgeport Bluefish thanks to 12 hits, including zero extra base hits. The Long Island Ducks scored three runs in the fourth on a sacrifice fly by Joash Brodin, a fielder's choice, and an RBI double by Brandon Sing.

The Bridgeport Bluefish's lineup had no answer for Nick Singleton. The Bridgeport Bluefish managed just two hits off of Singleton, who allowed one earned run, walked three and struck out five during his five innings of work.

Luis Rodriguez got on base two times in the game for the Bridgeport Bluefish. He scored one run and had one RBI. He homered in the second inning.

Matt Pike (1-4) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed seven runs in 3 2/3 innings, walked none and struck out four.
