The Nevada Griffons (2-1) and the Omaha Strike Zone (1-2) exchanged the lead five times on Saturday, but the Nevada Griffons ended up on top with a 5-4 win over the Omaha Strike Zone.

The Nevada Griffons took the lead in the fourth inning and held on for the victory. An error scored Robbe Ewing and gave the Nevada Griffons the lead for good.

The Nevada Griffons staved off the Omaha Strike Zone as the Omaha Strike Zone were unable to match the Nevada Griffons down the stretch.

The Omaha Strike Zone scored on an RBI double by Kyle Kinman in the seventh inning and an RBI single by Tanner Moore in the ninth inning. Despite their efforts, the Omaha Strike Zone couldn't finish the comeback.

Matt Burns was hot from the plate for the Nevada Griffons. Burns went 2-4 and scored two runs. He singled in the first and third innings.

David Collins recorded his first win of the year for the Nevada Griffons. He allowed three runs over 6 2/3 innings. Collins struck out three, walked one and gave up eight hits.

Cody Valdez (0-1) took the loss for the Omaha Strike Zone. He lasted just eight innings, walked one, struck out six, and allowed five runs.
