Early lead not enough for the Adirondack, drop 4-2 decision to the GEN Red Wings

The Adirondack (0-1) came out firing, but couldn't hang on to the lead, ending up on the losing side of a 4-2 ballgame against the GEN Red Wings (1-0) on Friday at Robert Smith Sports Complex .

The GEN Red Wings took the lead in the eighth inning on an RBI single by Chris Ray.

Grant Heyman reached base three times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He homered in the ninth inning.

Chris Murphy picked up the win for the GEN Red Wings. Murphy allowed two earned runs, seven hits and two walks while striking out three over eight innings of work.

Eric Baker racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Adirondack. He homered in the third inning.

Steven Bloodworth was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed one run.
