Down three runs in the ninth, the SYR JR Chiefs (1-0) recovered thanks to Corey Caswell's single in the eleventh, and pulled out a 7-6 win over the SYR Salt Cats (0-1) on Friday at Hopkins Road Park.

With the score tied at six in the eleventh inning, Caswell came to the plate and singled, bringing home Frank Salerno.

Caswell was solid at the plate for the SYR JR Chiefs. Caswell went 2-6 and drove in one. He singled in the eighth and eleventh innings.

Salerno got on base three times in the game for the SYR JR Chiefs. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the eleventh inning.

Dean Bonneau brought the heat against the SYR Salt Cats during his outing. Bonneau gave up just two hits, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three during his five innings of work.

JD Tyler recorded his first win of the year for the SYR JR Chiefs. Tyler struck out two, walked none and gave up no hits.

Roberto Morales couldn't get it done on the rubber for the SYR Salt Cats, taking a loss. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed one run.
