Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Thursday as the Rockford RiverHawks (40-53) outscored the Road Warriors (8-25) 17-9.

The two teams combined for 29 hits in the game.

The Rockford RiverHawks stamped out any hope for the Road Warriors with six runs in the eighth.

The game was back-and-forth heading into the fourth, with five lead changes.

Evan Button racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Rockford RiverHawks. He homered in the first inning.

Tyree Hayes recorded his first win of the year for the Rockford RiverHawks. He allowed one run over 1 1/3 innings. Hayes struck out one, walked two and gave up one hit.

Scott Foster was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 2 2/3 innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
