The Chugiak Chinooks (13-18) beat the Anchorage Bucs (16-16) 2-1 in seven innings on Monday at Loretta French Field behind Tyler Shryrock, who went 2-3.

The Anchorage Bucs had no answer for Mike Jeffreys, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Jeffreys gave up just two hits, allowed one earned run, walked two and struck out six during his seven innings of work.

The Anchorage Bucs were led by Brenden Kalfus's hitting. Kalfus went 1-3, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the third inning.

Tyler Wright ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked three, struck out five, and allowed two runs.
