The Chugiak Chinooks (13-18) beat the Anchorage Bucs (16-16) 2-1 in seven innings on Monday at Loretta French Field behind Tyler Shryrock, who went 2-3.
He singled in the first and fourth innings.The Anchorage Bucs had no answer for Mike Jeffreys, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Jeffreys gave up just two hits, allowed one earned run, walked two and struck out six during his seven innings of work.
The Anchorage Bucs were led by Brenden Kalfus's hitting. Kalfus went 1-3, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the third inning.
