Five first-inning runs helped the Holyoke Blue Sox (14-20) to an 8-3 win over the Keene Swamp Bats (23-10) at MacKenzie Stadium on Friday.
Connor Spencer paced the Holyoke Blue Sox at the plate. Spencer went 1-3, drove in one and scored two runs. He homered in the third inning.
The Keene Swamp Bats couldn't get anything going so long as Tyler Westensee was on the hill. The Keene Swamp Bats managed just one hit off of Westensee, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three during his 3 1/3 innings of work.
Chad Rafferty (0-1) took the loss for the Keene Swamp Bats. He allowed six runs in four innings, walked none and struck out three.
