Bryan Hill had two extra base hits as the Orlando Monarchs (17-17) took home an 8-3 victory over the Orlando Freedom (7-27) in seven innings at Orel Hershiser Field on Saturday.
He doubled in the second inning, singled in the fourth inning, and homered in the fifth inning.Drew Gay got the win, running his season record to 5-2. He allowed two runs over 5 2/3 innings. He struck out two, walked four and surrendered five hits.
Aaron Slegers ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in four innings, walked one and struck out six.
