A nine-run explosion in the second inning carried the Rockies AA (1-1) to a 13-0 win in five innings over the Angels AA (0-1) at Glenmore #3 on Monday.

James Erbas went a perfect 2-2 at the dish for the Rockies AA. He singled in the second and third innings.

The Rockies AA got the win thanks in large part to Tyler Schmidt's dominant, 10-strikeout performance. The Rockies AA's pitcher gave up just four hits over five shutout innings.

Howard Yau (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed nine runs in 1 1/3 innings, walked four and struck out two.
