The St. Cloud Rox survive the Rochester Honkers 6-4 thanks to Vazquez's late-game heroics

Boo Vazquez brought home the go-ahead run to give the St. Cloud Rox (14-30) the lead in the sixth inning, as the St. Cloud Rox hung on to beat the Rochester Honkers (18-26) 6-4 on Friday.

Andy Henkemeyer reached on an error to start the sixth. He then went from first to second on an error. Finally, Vazquez came to the plate with the score tied at two, and singled, bringing home Henkemeyer.

The St. Cloud Rox would not relinquish the lead as the Rochester Honkers were unable to weather a four-run ninth inning deficit.

The Rochester Honkers scored two runs in the ninth on an error and a fielder's choice. Despite their efforts, the Rochester Honkers couldn't get over the hump.

Ben Meyer had an impressive outing against the Rochester Honkers' lineup. The Rochester Honkers managed just two hits off of the the St. Cloud Rox's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his 3 1/3 innings of work.

Matt Kent couldn't get it done on the bump for the Rochester Honkers, taking a loss. He lasted just eight innings, walked none, struck out four, and allowed four runs.
