The Babe Ruth Selects get key pinch-hit in 8-6 victory over the North Oregon

Brad Pinchbeck was cold coming off the bench, but Pinchbeck warmed up quickly as Pinchbeck stroked a key pinch-hit single in the six to lead the Babe Ruth Selects (2-1) to an 8-6 win over the North Oregon (0-1) on Thursday at Other.

With the score tied at six, Pinchbeck came to the plate and singled.

The North Oregon were ahead early but they ultimately surrendered the lead for good. The North Oregon led until the sixth inning, but the Babe Ruth Selects took the lead back on an RBI single by Pinchbeck.

Tyler Schmidt racked up four RBIs on three hits for the Babe Ruth Selects. He doubled in the fifth inning and singled in the second and sixth innings.

Kurt Boyd racked up two RBIs on two hits for the North Oregon. He singled in the third and seventh innings.

Ryan St. Jean recorded his first win for the Babe Ruth Selects even though he allowed six runs over five innings. He struck out four, walked five and surrendered one hit.

Boyd took the loss for the North Oregon. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed four runs.
