The Alameda Merchants make the most of 9 hits in 6-5 victory over the Nevada Big Horns

The Alameda Merchants (13-11) and the Nevada Big Horns (3-19) both threatened with rallies, but it was the Alameda Merchants that eventually took advantage of them in a 6-5 win.

The Alameda Merchants held off the Nevada Big Horns, as the Nevada Big Horns were unable to overcome a five-run fifth inning deficit.

The Nevada Big Horns scored four runs in the seventh on an RBI double by Eric Nikssarian, a two-run home run by Eric Maupin, and an RBI single by Tyler Evanoff. Unfortunately, the Nevada Big Horns weren't able to take the lead back.

Roger Luna racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Alameda Merchants. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the fourth inning.

Jesse Schumacher improved to 3-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Alameda Merchants. He allowed one run over five innings. Schumacher struck out three, walked two and gave up five hits.

Dan Scheibe (1-2) took the loss for the Nevada Big Horns. He lasted just four innings, walked four, struck out five, and allowed four runs.
