The SYR JR Chiefs (25-10) were never able to get over the hump and get over their troubles against the GEN Red Wings (16-22) on Monday, as the SYR JR Chiefs fell 8-6 at McDonough Park after falling behind by seven runs in the sixth inning.

The SYR JR Chiefs scored on a two-run double by Frank Salerno in the seventh inning and a hit by pitch, a double by Alexander Sanchez Jr., , and in the ninth inning. Despite their efforts, the SYR JR Chiefs couldn't finish the comeback.

Grant Heyman had two extra-base hits for the GEN Red Wings. He doubled in the fifth and sixth innings.

Matt Hockenberry recorded his fourth win of the year for the GEN Red Wings. He allowed three runs over seven innings. He struck out three, walked three and surrendered five hits.

Robert Frank was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed three runs.

The GEN Red Wings were sparked by Heyman and Brad Blumer, who teamed up for four hits and two RBIs.
