The Rockford RiverHawks take out the Washington Wild Things with help from Button, 7-3

The Rockford RiverHawks (17-26) beat the Washington Wild Things (16-27) 7-3 on Wednesday at Washington, PA behind Evan Button, who had two extra base hits.

He homered in the fifth inning, tripled in the seventh inning, and singled in the eighth inning.

Ziggie VanderWall improved to 4-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Rockford RiverHawks. He allowed two runs over five innings. He struck out three, walked three and surrendered four hits.

Justin Hall couldn't get it done on the bump for the Washington Wild Things, taking a loss. He lasted just four innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed three runs.

The Rockford RiverHawks were sparked by Button and Jet Butler, who teamed up for five hits and two RBIs.
