Tripp Davis threw a shutout to lift the Sanford Mainers (6-13) to a 1-0 win over the Mystic Schooners (3-19) at Goodall Park in seven innings.

Davis put together a nice outing. Davis gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out five during his seven innings of work.

It was a good day at the plate for the Sanford Mainers' Paul Kronenfeld. Kronenfeld went 2-3 and scored one run. He singled in the second inning and doubled in the fifth inning.

Bob Cook ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just 6 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out four, and allowed one run.
