John Norwood went 2-2, sparking the Newport Gulls (30-10) to a 2-1 victory in seven innings over the Mystic Schooners (8-31) on Tuesday at Cardines Field.

Pete Kelich looked sharp on the mound. The Mystic Schooners managed just one hit off of Kelich, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out five during his two innings of work.

The Mystic Schooners' Andrew Santomauro was perfect at the dish, going 3-3. He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the second and sixth innings.

Mitch Horacek recorded his fourth win of the year for the Newport Gulls. He allowed one run over five innings. Horacek struck out four, walked four and gave up four hits.

Louis Concato was charged with his fourth loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked three, struck out four, and allowed two runs.
