Smucker's walk-off single send the Herndon Braves home winners, 11-10

A walk-off single from Jordon Smucker brought home the winning run for the Herndon Braves (15-24) in an 11-10 victory over the Vienna River Dogs in 10 innings at Alan McCullock Field on Tuesday.

It was a good day at the plate for the Herndon Braves' Smucker. Smucker went 2-6, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the fifth and tenth innings.

Each team blasted the other's pitching, and there were 21 total runs and 33 hits during the game. Managers of the two teams seemingly emptied their bullpens in search of the win, as there were nine pitchers used in the game.

The Herndon Braves scored three runs in the first inning to build an early lead.

JT Williamson improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Herndon Braves. He struck out two, walked none and surrendered no hits.

Johnny Bladel (0-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked three, struck out two, and allowed two runs.

Kyle Toomey, James Vasquez and Brendan Collins helped lead the Herndon Braves. They combined for eight hits and four RBIs.
