The Medicine Hat Mavericks defeat the Saskatoon Yellow Jackets after late game single, 4-3

The Medicine Hat Mavericks (30-15) took the last of six lead changes in a back-and-forth affair against the Saskatoon Yellow Jackets (19-26), securing a 4-3 victory on Wednesday at Cairns Field.

Collin Hetzler had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the fifth and sixth innings.

It was a good day at the plate for the Saskatoon Yellow Jackets' Jordan Chiero. Chiero went 2-3 and scored one run. He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the sixth inning.

Colton Rudd improved to 5-3 on the year by picking up the win for the Medicine Hat Mavericks. He allowed three runs over five innings. Rudd struck out three, walked three and gave up six hits.

Jake Stalzer was charged with his fifth loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked four, struck out eight, and allowed four runs.

The Medicine Hat Mavericks were sparked by Reid Fischer and Hetzler, who teamed up for three hits and three RBIs.
