Both the Harwich Mariners (10-2) and the Orleans Firebirds (10-2) put runners aboard on Thursday, but it was the Harwich Mariners that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 5-3 win at Whitehouse Field.

It was a good day at the plate for the Harwich Mariners' Austin Wilson. Wilson went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the sixth inning.

Daniel Aldrich had two extra-base hits for the Orleans Firebirds. He homered in the fourth inning and doubled in the fifth inning.

Brandon Woodruff got the win, running his season record to 2-0. He allowed one run over 2 1/3 innings. He struck out three, walked one and surrendered two hits.

Austin Kubitza (0-1) took the loss for the Orleans Firebirds. He lasted just four innings, walked one, struck out five, and allowed four runs.
