The Danbury Westerners (13-13) beat the Holyoke Blue Sox (10-15) 5-2 in seven innings on Tuesday at Rogers Park behind Scott Hagan, who went 2-3 and hit a home run.
He singled in the second inning and homered in the sixth inning.The Danbury Westerners got the win thanks in large part to Stephen Catalina's dominant, seven-strikeout performance. Catalina allowed two earned runs on four hits and no walks over five innings.
Mike Fischer went a perfect 3-3 at the plate for the Holyoke Blue Sox. He doubled in the fifth inning and singled in the second and seventh innings.
Chris OHare (0-1) took the loss for the Holyoke Blue Sox. He lasted just four innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed four runs.
