Betts stars as the Sanford Mainers defeat the Keene Swamp Bats, 18-13

A superb effort by Jordan Betts lifted the Sanford Mainers (15-25) to an 18-13 win over the Keene Swamp Bats (27-13) on Sunday at Alumni Field, Keene,NH.

Betts rocked the Keene Swamp Bats with two home runs. Betts went 3-6 in the game with five RBIs and three runs scored. Betts homered in the third and fifth innings.

Each team blasted the other's pitching, and there were 31 total runs and 33 hits during the game. Managers of the two teams seemingly emptied their bullpens in search of the win, as there were six pitchers used in the game.

Cameron OBrien led the Keene Swamp Bats' offensive threat, as he got on base four times in the game. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He singled in the fourth and sixth innings and homered in the ninth inning.

Even though John Gorman allowed six runs over seven innings he still recorded the victory, his second of the season. He struck out three, walked two and surrendered 10 hits.

Ryan Horstman couldn't get it done on the mound for the Keene Swamp Bats, taking a loss. He allowed nine runs in two innings, walked two and struck out two.

The Sanford Mainers pounded the Keene Swamp Bats pitching, as six hitters combined for 12 hits, 13 RBIs and 13 runs scored.
