The Utica scored two runs in the eighth on a sacrifice fly by Brett Dennis and an RBI single by Kenny Durling. Still, the Utica couldn't catch the SYR JR Chiefs.
It was a good day at the plate for the SYR JR Chiefs' Zach Lauricella. Lauricella went 2-4 and scored one run. He singled in the first inning and tripled in the sixth innings.
Tim Murdick was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked three, struck out four, and allowed four runs.
