Blake Nation pitched nine innings to lift the Fort Worth Cats (35-26) to a 4-2 win over the Rio Grande Valley Whitewings (34-27) at Harlingen Field.

The Rio Grande Valley Whitewings were ahead early but they ultimately surrendered the lead for good. The Rio Grande Valley Whitewings were up until the seventh inning, but the Fort Worth Cats had other plans for the final outcome, taking the lead back on an RBI single by Kenny Gilbert.

Coleman Stephens ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just seven innings, walked none, struck out three, and allowed three runs.
