Tuesday was a great day for Jordan Mills, as Mills struck out 13 batters to carry the Peninsula Oilers (2-0) to an 8-1 victory over the Adult All-Stars (0-2).
The Peninsula Oilers blew out the Adult All-Stars thanks to 12 hits, including zero extra base hits. The Peninsula Oilers scored three runs in the fifth on an RBI single by Jimmie Koch, an error, and a sacrifice fly by Nigel Nootbaar.
Jeff Yamaguchi did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Peninsula Oilers, reaching base four times. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He singled in the fifth and sixth innings and doubled in the eighth inning.
Mike Smith couldn't get it done on the hill for the Adult All-Stars, taking a loss. He allowed eight runs in seven innings, walked three and struck out seven.
