The Lake Tahoe Blue beat Russia, 1-0, in a contest where the winning goal was scored in the first period but the game remained close throughout. Lake Tahoe took over the lead for good with a goal by Boone Jenner at 1:05 in the first period. Scott Harrington picked up the assist.Russia's Sergey Kostenko could not handle what the Blue threw at him, as Lake Tahoe netted its goals off of two. The Blue were paced by Jenner, who tallied one goal. Lake Tahoe's offense revolved around and Daniel Catenacci, who put and one shot on net. More assists for Lake Tahoe came via Slater Koekkoek, who had one. Russia managed to stay out of the box better than usual, tallying one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Russia wound up below its season average of 3.0 penalty minutes per game. The Blue ended with no penalties and went 0-for-1 on the power play.
