Russia downs Lake Tahoe, 2-1

Victor Antipin registered one point to lead Russia to a 2-1 victory over the Lake Tahoe Blue.

The defensemen of Russia were also effective in Lake Tahoe's zone, and came away with two goals.

Andrey Pedan also scored for Russia. More assists for Russia came via Mikhail Naumenko, who had one and Roman Rukavishnikov, who had two.

Russia's defense shut down the Blue's forwards for much of the game, and Lake Tahoe got off only 13 shots during the contest.

The Blue were led by Boone Jenner, who scored the team's only goal. Jenner scored on the power play zero seconds into the third period to make the score 1-1. Slater Koekkoek provided the assist.

Pavel Suchkov made 12 saves for Russia on 13 shots. Russia avoided the penalty box for the entire game and scored zero goals off of two power plays. Scott Wedgewood rejected 13 shots on goal for Lake Tahoe. The Blue incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors and had no power play opportunities.
