Lake Tahoe vanquishes Russia in shootout, 3-2 (2-0 SO)

Nathan Chiarlitti netted the deciding goal for the Lake Tahoe Blue in the shootout as Blue prevailed over Russia, 3-2 (2-0 SO).

The shootout featured three attempts between both teams. In addition to the clincher, Lake Tahoe got a shootout goal from Jamie Oleksiak.

Russia's Sergey Kostenko could not handle what the Blue threw at him, as Lake Tahoe netted its goals off of four.

The Blue were led by Chiarlitti, who finished with one goal. Chiarlitti scored zero seconds into the third period to make the score 2-1 Lake Tahoe. Slater Koekkoek picked up the assist.

Lake Tahoe's offense revolved around and Chiarlitti, who put and three shots on net. The Blue managed to stay out of the box for the most part, racking up a minimal one major for five minutes in penalty time. Lake Tahoe relied heavily on its defensemen to assist its forwards, and the blueliners responded by scoring three goals on four shots.

The Blue were led by Chiarlitti, who grabbed one goal. Oleksiak also scored for Lake Tahoe. Other players who recorded assists for Lake Tahoe were Ryan Spooner, who had one.

Russia barely challenged the opposing goalie, launching only three shots on target to force one save. Team.mascot's final shot tally was well below the team's average of 11.3 pucks on net per game. Russia's defensemen played well offensively, producing two goals while racking up three shots.

Russia was led by Roman Rukavishnikov, who finished with one goal and one assist. Rukavishnikov scored zero seconds into the third period to make the score 2-2. Mikhail Naumenko provided the assist. Russia also got a goal from Andrey Pedan as well. In addition, Russia received assists from Victor Antipin, who had one.

Scott Wedgewood rejected one shot on goal for Lake Tahoe. The Blue registered zero goals on zero power play opportunities. Kostenko recorded one save for Russia. Russia ended with no penalties and went 0-for-1 on the power play.
