Lee leads Burlington to shutout victory over GeorgetownAlcott Sat, Apr 09, 2016 Story by Narrative Science.
Andrew Lee recorded a shutout against the Georgetown Raiders as the Burlington Cougars picked up a 5-0 win. With the win, Burlington avoided elimination to make the series score 3-2 in the best of seven series. The Cougars got the win on the strength of a great game by Stefano Alonzi, who had two goals and one assist. Alonzi scored the first of his two goals at 10:51 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Burlington. James McLaughlin picked up the assist. Alonzi's next tally made the score 4-0 Burlington with 3:18 left in the third period. Jordan Peacock assisted on the tally. Burlington excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. The Cougars kept Georgetown's goalie busy throughout the game, and Andrew Masters made 34 saves on 39 shots. Burlington additionally got points from McLaughlin, who also had one goal and two assists. Burlington also had goals scored by Willy Paul and Dante Felicetti, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Burlington were Zac Herrmann, Mike Faliero, and Ben Morris, who contributed one each. The Raiders' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Burlington power plays. Burlington was unable to stop Georgetown from sending pucks towards the net, and the Raiders eventually piled up 39 shots on goal. Lee rejected 39 shots on goal for the Cougars. Burlington incurred 28 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. Georgetown incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. |
