Orangeville falls to Georgetown in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Georgetown Raiders' Josh Dickinson scored 15:43 into overtime to beat the Orangeville Flyers, 4-3 (OT).

The win gave Georgetown a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series.

Orangeville could not complete its climb out of a three-goal hole. The Raiders made the score 3-0 on a goal by Jack Jacome at 9:27 in the second period. The Flyers got to within 3-2 on a power play goal by Josh DeFarias at 8:14 in the third period.

Georgetown was led by Dickinson, who racked up one goal.

The Raiders kept Orangeville's goalie busy throughout the game, and Nicholas Latinovich made 35 saves on 39 shots. Penalties took their toll on Georgetown, as its penalty kill unit let in three power play goals.

Georgetown also got points from Brendan Jacome, who also had one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. In addition, Georgetown received assists from Jordan Crocker, who had three and Ashur Elliot, Austin Cho, and Andrew Court, who each chipped in one.

The Flyers' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Georgetown power plays. The Raiders were unable to stop Orangeville from sending pucks towards the net, and the Flyers eventually piled up 35 shots on goal. The defensemen of Orangeville were also effective in Georgetown's zone, and came away with two goals.

Orangeville additionally got points from Jack Jeffers, who also finished with one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for Orangeville were Lucas Smilsky, who had one and Derek Topatigh, who had two.

The Raiders' Andrew Masters stopped 32 shots out of the 35 that he faced. Georgetown incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Flyers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
