Aurora downs Wellington, 5-3

The win moved Aurora to down two-one in the best of seven series.

Tigers put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Wellington to score on any of their five power plays.Aurora kept Dukes's goalie busy throughout the game, and Olivier Lafreniere made 34 saves on 39 shots.

Aurora also got points from Liam Neuman, who also registered one goal and one assist and JD Falconer, who also registered one goal and one assist. Austin Gerhart also scored for Aurora. More assists for Aurora came via Noah Delmas, who had two and Kyle Locke and Liam Ham, who contributed one apiece.

Wellington were led by Dylan Mascarin, who registered one goal and two assists.Mascarin scored in the third period to make the score 5-3 Aurora. Jacob Panetta and Matt Adams registered the assists on the goal.Others who scored for Wellington included Shaw Boomhower and Jacob Hetherington, who scored one each. In addition, Wellington received assists from Adams, Panetta, and Nicolas Mucci, who each chipped in one.

Joshua Boyko recorded 23 saves for Tigers. Aurora incurred ten minutes in penalty time with five minors. Dukes incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Wellington ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Boomhower was ejected from the game.
