Oakville rips St. Michaels, 6-1

The win by Oakville broke a deadlock and gave Oakville a two-one advantage in the best of seven series.

Blades got the win behind a great game by Josh Kosack, who had two goals and two assists. Kosack scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 12:47 into the third period to make the score 5-1 Oakville. Drew Worrad claimed the first assist on the goal, and Brayden Sampson got the second. Kosack's next tally on the power play made the score 6-1 Oakville in the third period. Bryce Misley picked up the assist.

Kosack had two goals and two assists to lead Oakville. The goal was assisted by Worrad and Sampson. Misley assisted on the tally.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 8:25 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

Blades kept St. Michaels's goalie busy throughout the game, and Mark Manolescu made 28 saves on 34 shots.

Oakville additionally got points from Worrad, who also registered one goal and one assist , Jackson Bales, who also registered one goal and one assist , Ryan Foss, who also registered one goal and one assist , and Misley, who also registered one goal and one assist. In addition, Oakville received assists from Christian Rajic, Paul Butler, Daniel Jelic, and Ian Blacker, who each chipped in one.

Buzzers were held back by their power play unit, which tallied one goal on nine chances.

St. Michaels were led by Cameron Wright, who scored the team's only goal. Wright scored on the power play in the second period to make the score 1-1 . Luke Branco and Austin Clapham registered the assists on the goal.

Brendan McGlynn made 23 saves for Blades on 24 shots. Oakville totaled 19 minutes in penalty time with seven minors and one major and went 3-for-14 on the power play. For Blades, Peyton Reeves was ejected from the game. Buzzers ended with 35 minutes in penalty time with ten minors and one major. For St. Michaels, Mike Pellegrini and Clapham were ejected from the contest.
