AB Carroll JV blows out WC East JV, 8-4

AB Carroll JV had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to an 8-4 win over WC East JV.

Ian Myers was all over the ice for AB Carroll JV, as he tallied two goals and two assists in the win. Myers scored the first of his two goals at 1:53 into the second period to make the score 5-1 AB Carroll JV. Myers' next tally made the score 8-4 AB Carroll JV with 5:57 left in the third period. Robert Batten picked up the assist.

AB Carroll JV found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, AB Carroll JV averages 4.9 goals per contest. AB Carroll JV was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 28 penalty minutes.

AB Carroll JV also got points from William Stenger, who also had two goals and one assist, James Beale, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Batten, who also registered one goal and two assists, and Anthony Antenucci, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Jason Zambella also scored for AB Carroll JV. In addition, AB Carroll JV received assists from Christopher Stenger, who had one.

WC East JV did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting 11 shots on net to force seven saves. WC East JV found itself short handed often, totaling 36 penalty minutes and allowing six power plays.

WC East JV was led by Michael Gray, who grabbed two goals. Gray scored the first of his two goals at 7:01 into the first period to make the score 2-1 AB Carroll JV. Nicholas Donnelly provided the assist. Gray's next tally made the score 5-2 AB Carroll JV with 5:51 left in the second period. A roughing penalty on Shane Brady had put WC East JV on the power play. Others who scored for WC East JV included Shane Stefani and Philip Dipiero, who scored one goal each.

Christopher Waldmann rejected seven shots on goal for AB Carroll JV. WC East JV's Anthony Cupaiuolo stopped 16 shots out of the 24 that he faced. WC East JV registered two goals on seven power play opportunities.
