Boyertown JV holds on for 5-4 win against Downingtown East JV White

Boyertown JV survived a determined comeback attempt by Downingtown East JV White on the way to a 5-4 win.

Boyertown JV made the score 3-1 on a goal by Zachary Rath at 4:22 in the second period, and Downingtown East JV White got as close as 3-2 when Kostas Kourahanis scored 1:05 into the third period.

Leo Richards had a great game for Boyertown JV, netting two goals. Richards found the back of the net 11:54 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Boyertown JV and again while on the power play 14:39 into the third to make the score 5-4 Boyertown JV.

The defensemen of Boyertown JV were also effective in Downingtown East JV White's zone, and came away with three goals.

Others who scored for Boyertown JV included Kelsey Showers and Kyle Stephens, who scored one goal each. In addition, Boyertown JV received assists from Sean Quinn, who had one and Morgan Reice, Cole Novak, and Jake Harman, who contributed two each.

Downingtown East JV White managed to stay out of the box better than usual, finishing with one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Downingtown East JV White wound up below its season average of 8.0 penalty minutes per game.

Downingtown East JV White also had goals scored by Daniel Cook and Damian Fabrizio, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Downingtown East JV White were Zachary Haberman, who had two and Nicolas Super, Matt Teatino, and Sean Marcus, who each chipped in one.

Alex Jacobs made 26 saves for Boyertown JV on 30 shots. Boyertown JV incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Downingtown East JV White's Emma Shannon stopped 22 shots out of the 27 that he faced. Downingtown East JV White registered one goal on two power play opportunities.
