AB Ryan JV survives Roman Catholic JV comeback, wins 7-6

Roman Catholic JV tried its best to erase a two-goal deficit, but AB Ryan JV would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 7-6.

AB Ryan JV made the score 5-3 on a goal by Kevin McCarthy at 11:28 in the second period, and Roman Catholic JV got as close as 5-4 when Patrick Stermel scored 25 seconds into the third period.

The teams traded the lead five times and neither team could skate away and hide. Roman Catholic JV took its last lead at 5:34 in the third on a goal by Stermel to make the score 6-5 Roman Catholic JV. AB Ryan JV took over the lead for good with a goal by David Lee 13:55 into the third to make the score 7-6.

AB Ryan JV excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. AB Ryan JV forced Roman Catholic JV goalie Gianni Ciccolone to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots.

AB Ryan JV was led by Dominick Cerceo, who registered three goals. AB Ryan JV additionally got points from McCarthy, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Others who scored for AB Ryan JV included Dan Cirelli and Josh Davis, who each put in one. More assists for AB Ryan JV came via Ryan Hearn, who had three and Ryan McAnany and Stephen Pettit, who contributed one each.

Roman Catholic JV stifled AB Ryan JV's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Roman Catholic JV's offense rang up 37 shots on AB Ryan JV's net.

Roman Catholic JV also got points from Austin Rehiel, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Roman Catholic JV also got a goal from Richard Ziegler as well. In addition, Roman Catholic JV received assists from Patrick Thompson, Michael Darrah, Sean Jarrett, and Richard Oglesby, who each chipped in one and George Leone and Alec Heydt, who contributed two each.

Fran McClain recorded 31 saves for AB Ryan JV. AB Ryan JV incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Roman Catholic JV's Ciccolone stopped 26 shots out of the 33 that he faced. Roman Catholic JV incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
