PV-VFMA squeaks by Boyertown JV, 4-3

PV-VFMA and Boyertown JV were evenly matched throughout their contest, but PV-VFMA made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-3.

PV-VFMA gained the winning advantage on a goal by Jake Furlong 8:06 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

PV-VFMA was led by Furlong, who registered one goal.

In a losing effort, Boyertown JV was sparked by Leo Richards, who racked up two goals. Richards scored the first of his two goals at 6:59 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Boyertown JV. Jake Harman picked up the assist. Richards' next tally made the score 3-2 Boyertown JV with 6:39 left in the first period. Kalyn Mackey provided the assist.

PV-VFMA excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances.

PV-VFMA also got points from Adam Lewis, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. PV-VFMA also had goals scored by Cabel Graham and Elias Jesus, who scored one goal each. In addition, PV-VFMA received assists from Luke Gilronan and Jacob Gilinger, who each chipped in one.

Boyertown JV put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow PV-VFMA to score on any of its three power plays. Boyertown JV kept PV-VFMA's goalie busy throughout the game, and Hunter Thomas made 42 saves on 45 shots. Boyertown JV's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Cole Novak also scored for Boyertown JV. More assists for Boyertown JV came via Hunter Zeall and Morgan Reice, who contributed one each.

PV-VFMA incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Alex Jacobs rejected 13 shots on goal for Boyertown JV. Boyertown JV incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
