Great Valley JV beats Downingtown East JV_2 8-2 as Bates gets hat trick

Downingtown East JV_2 could not stop Great Valley JV's Mitchell Bates, who tallied a hat trick in an 8-2 win.

Bates' first goal came 8:24 into the first period. He then added goals at 11:49 into the second and at 15 seconds into the third.

The game was close after the first frame, but Great Valley JV banged in four goals during the second period to put the victory out of reach for Downingtown East JV_2.

Downingtown East JV_2's power play was ineffective against Great Valley JV's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

Great Valley JV's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven Downingtown East JV_2 power plays.

Great Valley JV additionally got points from Sam Edwards, who also tallied three goals and one assist. Others who scored for Great Valley JV included Daniel Haitz and Joshua Porton, who each put in one.
