WC East GV rolls over Conestoga GV, 7-0

WC East GV had a five-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 7-0 win over Conestoga GV.

WC East GV got the win behind a great game by Jennifer Porter, who had one goal and five assists. Porter scored 4:59 into the first period to make the score 3-0 WC East GV.

WC East GV pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 10 penalty minutes.

WC East GV excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. Conestoga GV was unable to stop WC East GV from sending pucks towards the net, and WC East GV eventually piled up 58 shots on goal. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with four goals.

WC East GV additionally got points from Anne Cleary, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for WC East GV included Hannah Pinhiero, who had two and Gemma Dufoe, Shannon Russell, and Rachel Girard, who scored one goal each. More assists for WC East GV came via Kristen Eland and Erin Bonner, who contributed one each.

Conestoga GV did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. Conestoga GV averages 2.9 goals per game. Conestoga GV found itself stymied offensively, and got off a mere 10 shots against WC East GV's defense. Conestoga GV did not rack up many penalties in the contest, totaling a minimal one minor for two minutes in penalty time.
