Compuware 18U outlasts New Jersey Jr. Titans 18U, 3-2

Compuware 18U gutted out a close 3-2 win against New Jersey Jr. Titans 18U.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Trevor Pennell's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

Todd Trottier had a great game for Compuware 18U, netting two goals. Trottier's tallies came on the power play at 9:19 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Compuware 18U and 9:41 into the first to make the score 2-0 Compuware 18U.

Compuware 18U's penalty kill excelled, as Compuware 18U gave up zero goals despite allowing nine power plays.

Compuware 18U stifled New Jersey Jr. Titans 18U's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Compuware 18U forced New Jersey Jr. Titans 18U goalie Colin Burgess to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots. Compuware 18U could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 30 minutes in penalties during the game.

More assists for Compuware 18U came via Brandon Van Ophem, Jhuwon Davis, Austin Morgan, Nolan Turi, Alex Armstrong, and Spencer Van Tiem, who contributed one each.

New Jersey Jr. Titans 18U was led by Brian Lange, who tallied one goal and one assist. Lange scored 13:28 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Jack Kosinski assisted on the tally. Trevor Madden also scored for New Jersey Jr. Titans 18U.

Compuware 18U's Tyler Copp stopped 17 shots out of the 19 that he faced. Compuware 18U registered one goal on seven power play opportunities. Burgess rejected 29 shots on goal for New Jersey Jr. Titans 18U. New Jersey Jr. Titans 18U incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
