Omaha AAA 18U takes care of Washington Little Capitals 18U early, wins 9-2

Omaha AAA 18U opened up a four-goal lead after the first period and did not look back en route to a 9-2 win over Washington Little Capitals 18U.

Omaha AAA 18U got the win with help from a great game by Tristan Ashbrook, who had two goals and two assists. Ashbrook scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 12:05 into the first period to make the score 3-0 Omaha AAA 18U. Omaha AAA 18U had gotten the advantage when Washington Little Capitals 18U's Colin Leslie was sent off for tripping. Dylan McDonald picked up the assist. Ashbrook's next tally on the power play made the score 6-2 Omaha AAA 18U with 3:26 left in the second period. Jarett Mari provided the assist.

Omaha AAA 18U kept Washington Little Capitals 18U's goalie busy throughout the game, and Alex Chen made 41 saves on 50 shots. Omaha AAA 18U surpassed its usual scoring output this season. Omaha AAA 18U averages 5.0 goals per game.
