Kingston rides Urbani to victory over Toronto Patriots, 3-1

Daniel Urbani stood on his head and made 34 saves to lead the Kingston Voyageurs to a 3-1 victory over the Toronto Patriots Patriots.

With the win, Kingston avoided elimination to make the series score 3-3 in the best of seven series.

The Voyageurs were sparked by Cole Bolton, who had one goal and one assist. Bolton scored 18:18 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Kingston. Joey Beaudoin picked up the assist.

Kingston forced Toronto Patriots goalie Mathew Robson to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots.

Kingston additionally got points from Beaudoin, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Alex Tonge also scored for Kingston. In addition, Kingston received assists from Alex Stothart, who had one.

The Patriots put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Voyageurs to score on any of their three power plays. Toronto Patriots' offense rang up 35 shots on Kingston's net.

The Patriots were led by Mitch Emerson, who scored the team's only goal. Emerson scored 1:43 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Toronto Patriots. Niko Kovachis provided the assist.

The Voyageurs incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Robson recorded 31 saves for Toronto Patriots. The Patriots incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
