Toronto Patriots downs Kingston in overtime, 2-1 (OT)

The Toronto Patriots Patriots pulled out a 2-1 (OT) overtime victory over the Kingston Voyageurs on a clutch goal by Niko Kovachis.

After the loss made the series score 3-1 in the best of seven series, Kingston faces elimination next time out.

Toronto Patriots was led by goalie Mathew Robson, who finished with 36 saves while allowing one goal. Robson managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 1.81 prior to the game.

The Patriots were paced by Kovachis, who registered one goal. Kovachis scored 18:15 into overtime to make the score 2-1 Toronto Patriots. Nico Gonzalez picked up the assist.

Toronto Patriots excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Voyageurs were unable to stop the Patriots from sending pucks towards the net, and Toronto Patriots eventually piled up 33 shots on goal.

Toronto Patriots also got a goal from Mitch Emerson as well. In addition, Toronto Patriots received assists from Nathan Feric, Nicholas Geiser, and Quinn Syrydiuk, who each chipped in one.

Kingston stifled the Patriots' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Voyageurs' offense rang up 37 shots on Toronto Patriots' net.

Kingston was led by Joey Beaudoin, who scored the team's only goal. Beaudoin scored 1:58 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Kingston. Cole Bolton assisted on the tally.

The Patriots incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Daniel Urbani recorded 31 saves for the Voyageurs. Kingston incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
