Toronto Patriots wins tough contest against Kingston, 5-3

The game between the Toronto Patriots Patriots and the Kingston Voyageurs was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Toronto Patriots emerged with a 5-3 win.

The Patriots gained the winning advantage on a goal by Marcus Rose 5:29 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

With the win, Toronto Patriots evened the series at 1-1 in the best of seven showdown.

The Patriots were led by Nico Gonzalez, who grabbed one goal. Gonzalez scored 6:00 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Toronto Patriots. Nicholas Geiser provided the assist.

Toronto Patriots kept Kingston's goalie busy throughout the game, and Daniel Urbani made 35 saves on 40 shots.

Toronto Patriots additionally got points from Tyler Currie, who also finished with one goal and two assists. Others who scored for Toronto Patriots included Mitch Emerson and Louis DiMatteo, who each put in one. In addition, Toronto Patriots received assists from Jacob Hayhurst, who had two and Kody Gagnon, Nicholas Ursitti, and Jeremy Pullara, who each chipped in one.

The Voyageurs stifled the Patriots' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Kingston forced Toronto Patriots goalie Mathew Robson to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots.

The Voyageurs were helped by Alex Tonge, who registered one goal. Tonge scored 7:28 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Kingston. Cole Bolton picked up the assist. Kingston also had goals scored by Blake ONeill and Adam Brady, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Kingston were Rory McGuire, who had one.

Robson recorded 34 saves for the Patriots. Toronto Patriots incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Kingston incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
