Kingston holds on for 6-4 win against Trenton

The Trenton Golden Hawks tried to dig themselves out of a five-goal hole, but the Kingston Voyageurs held on for a 6-4 victory.

Kingston made the score 5-0 on a goal by Alex Tonge at 12:29 in the second period, and Trenton got as close as 6-4 when Christian DiFelice scored 10:09 into the third period.

With the win, the Voyageurs evened the series at 2-2 in the best of seven showdown.

Tonge had two goals and one assist to lead Kingston.

The Voyageurs forced the Golden Hawks' goalies to work in net, firing 39 shots and forcing 33 saves. Riley Brown made 27 stops and Justin Kapelmaster made six.

Kingston additionally got points from Matt Hoover, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Adam Brady also scored for Kingston. In addition, Kingston received assists from Zachary Emelifeonwu, Joey Beaudoin, Adam Moodie, Alex Stothart, Reid Russell, and Spencer Green, who each chipped in one and Michael Crocock and Cole Bolton, who contributed two each.

Kingston was unable to stop Trenton from sending pucks towards the net, and the Golden Hawks eventually piled up 37 shots on goal.

Trenton also got points from Nick Santoro, who also registered one goal and one assist. Trenton also got a goal from Kevin Lavoie as well. Other players who recorded assists for Trenton were Liam Morgan, Blayne Oliver, and Brady Wiffen, who each chipped in one and Tyler Donaldson and Loren Ulett, who contributed two each.

Daniel Urbani recorded 33 saves for the Voyageurs. Kingston incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Trenton incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
