Toronto Patriots hangs on, beats Toronto Jr. Canadiens 5-3

Mitch Emerson gave the Toronto Patriots Patriots the lead in the first period, and the Toronto Jr. Canadiens Junior Canadiens was never able to catch up in a close game that ended 5-3.

A goal 12:06 into the first period by Emerson proved to be the game winner, and powered Toronto Patriots to the victory. Nathan Feric picked up the assist.

The win gave the Patriots a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series.

Emerson had a great game for Toronto Patriots, netting two goals.

The Patriots did not rack up many penalties in the contest, totaling a minimal one minor for two minutes in penalty time.

Toronto Patriots also got points from Marcus Rose, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Toronto Patriots also had goals scored by Nicholas Ursitti and Quinn Syrydiuk, who scored one goal each. In addition, Toronto Patriots received assists from Tyler Currie, Mario Ferraro, Niko Kovachis, Jacob Hayhurst, Louis DiMatteo, and Nico Gonzalez, who each chipped in one.

Toronto Jr. Canadiens was helped by Anthony Repaci, who finished with one goal. Repaci scored 3:22 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Toronto Patriots. Nicholas Jarzabek provided the assist. Toronto Jr. Canadiens additionally got points from Matthew Ferrari, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Jarzabek, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. More assists for Toronto Jr. Canadiens came via Ryan MacSpadyen, who had one and Sal Filice, who had two.

Mathew Robson made 22 saves for Toronto Patriots on 25 shots. The Patriots registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. Nathan Colitto recorded 25 saves for the Junior Canadiens. Toronto Jr. Canadiens incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
