Toronto Patriots squeaks by Oakville, 4-2

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Toronto Patriots Patriots escaped with a 4-2 victory over the Oakville Blades.

Toronto Patriots gained the winning advantage on a goal by Jacob Hayhurst 6:06 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

After the loss made the series score 3-1 in the best of seven series, Oakville faces elimination next time out.

Hayhurst was all over the ice for the Patriots, as he tallied two goals in the win.

Toronto Patriots forced the Blades goalie Daniel Mannella to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots.

Toronto Patriots also got points from Quinn Syrydiuk, who also registered one goal and two assists. Toronto Patriots also got a goal from Jeremy Pullara as well. Other players who recorded assists for Toronto Patriots were Louis DiMatteo, who had two and Tyler Currie, Mitch Emerson, and Nicholas Geiser, who each chipped in one.

Oakville was helped by Ryan Garvey, who finished with two goals. Garvey scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 8:52 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Oakville. A cross checking penalty on Geiser had put the Blades on the power play. Tyler Rollo assisted on the tally. Garvey's next tally on the power play made the score 3-2 Toronto Patriots with 5:48 left in the third period. Rollo picked up the assist. In addition, Oakville received assists from Jackson Bales and Christian Rajic, who contributed one each.

Mathew Robson recorded 22 saves for the Patriots. Toronto Patriots incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Oakville's Mannella stopped 35 shots out of the 38 that he faced. The Blades incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
