Georgetown falls to Toronto Jr. Canadiens in overtime, 3-2 (OT)Alcott Wed, Mar 18, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Toronto Jr. Canadiens Junior Canadiens' Adam DeLuca scored 2:47 into overtime to beat the Georgetown Raiders, 3-2 (OT). After the loss made the series score 3-0 in the best of seven series, Georgetown faces elimination next time out. Toronto Jr. Canadiens was paced by DeLuca, who racked up one goal. The Junior Canadiens put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Raiders to score on any of their three power plays. Toronto Jr. Canadiens kept Georgetown's goalie busy throughout the game, and Marc Williams made 49 saves on 52 shots. Others who scored for Toronto Jr. Canadiens included Aaron Spivak and Nicholas Jarzabek, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Toronto Jr. Canadiens were Kevin Hancock, Lucas Chiodo, Michael Cuddemi, and Anthony Repaci, who contributed one each. The Junior Canadiens were unable to stop the Raiders from sending pucks towards the net, and Georgetown eventually piled up 50 shots on goal. The Raiders were helped by Brendan Jacome, who grabbed one goal. Jacome scored short handed 17:01 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Georgetown played down a man on Liam Clare's head contact. Georgetown also got a goal from Nick Iafrate as well. More assists for Georgetown came via Steve Hladin and Anthony Marra, who each chipped in one. Toronto Jr. Canadiens' Nathan Colitto stopped 48 shots out of the 50 that he faced. The Junior Canadiens incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Toronto Jr. Canadiens ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Daniel Lopapa was ejected from the game. The Raiders incurred 26 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
