Toronto Jr. Canadiens squeaks by Georgetown, 4-3

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Toronto Jr. Canadiens Junior Canadiens escaped with a 4-3 victory over the Georgetown Raiders.

Neither team gained more than a one-goal lead, and Justin Maiolino's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

The win gave Toronto Jr. Canadiens a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series.

Anthony Repaci had one goal and two assists to lead the Junior Canadiens. Repaci scored 17:39 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Toronto Jr. Canadiens. Matthew Ferrari picked up the assist.

Toronto Jr. Canadiens forced Georgetown goalie Jack LaFontaine to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots.

Toronto Jr. Canadiens also got points from Ferrari, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Maiolino, who also had one goal and one assist. Toronto Jr. Canadiens also got a goal from Anthony Trujillo as well. In addition, Toronto Jr. Canadiens received assists from Luca Farrace, Kennedy Duguid, Adam DeLuca, and Kevin Hancock, who contributed one each.

The Raiders kept the Junior Canadiens' goalie busy throughout the game, and Nathan Colitto made 29 saves on 32 shots.

Georgetown was helped by John Adams, who registered one goal and one assist. Adams scored 13:03 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Brendan Jacome assisted on the tally. Georgetown additionally got points from Thomas Welsh, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Scott Emerson also scored for Georgetown. Other players who recorded assists for Georgetown were Steve Hladin and Richard Court, who each chipped in one.

Toronto Jr. Canadiens incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Raiders' LaFontaine stopped 32 shots out of the 36 that he faced. Georgetown incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
