Toronto Jr. Canadiens pulls away in second, rolls over Georgetown, 5-0

The Toronto Jr. Canadiens Junior Canadiens scored three goals in the second period to pull away from the Georgetown Raiders and clinch a 5-0 win.

The win gave Toronto Jr. Canadiens a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series.

The Junior Canadiens were sparked by Andrew Mullen, who registered one goal. Mullen scored 5:32 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Toronto Jr. Canadiens. Justin Maiolino picked up the assist.

Toronto Jr. Canadiens forced Georgetown's netminders to work between the pipes, finishing with 32 shots and forcing 27 saves. Jack LaFontaine made 20 stops and Marc Williams made seven. The Junior Canadiens stifled the Raiders' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Toronto Jr. Canadiens also got points from Maiolino, who also racked up one goal and two assists. Toronto Jr. Canadiens also had goals scored by Anthony Trujillo, Ryan MacSpadyen, and Anthony Repaci, who each put in one. More assists for Toronto Jr. Canadiens came via Matthew Ferrari, who had two and Cody Symonds, Kevin Hancock, Aaron Spivak, Dakota Brancatella, Michael Cuddemi, and Nicholas Jarzabek, who each chipped in one.

Nathan Colitto made 21 saves for Toronto Jr. Canadiens on 21 shots. The Junior Canadiens incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Georgetown incurred 26 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. The Raiders ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Nick Iafrate was ejected from the game.
